Yin & Restorative Yoga — The Art of Surrender
Monday 23rd November | 7pm UK | Live Online | 60 Minutes
Slow down. Soften. Restore.
When was the last time you allowed yourself to truly rest?
Not because you'd finished everything on your to-do list.
Not because you'd earned it.
But simply because you needed it.
We live in a world that celebrates productivity, achievement and constantly doing more. And somewhere along the way, many of us have forgotten how to simply stop.
Even when we finally sit down, our minds are still racing through everything we should be doing.
But what if slowing down wasn't a sign of weakness?
What if surrender wasn't about giving up, but about letting go of the constant need to hold everything together?
Join me for a deeply nourishing 60-minute exploration of Yin & Restorative Yoga, two beautiful practices that invite us to slow down, turn our attention inwards and discover the power of stillness.
While these styles share a gentle, unhurried approach, they offer slightly different experiences.
Yin Yoga invites us into passive, longer-held postures, encouraging patience, awareness and a willingness to meet ourselves exactly where we are.
Restorative Yoga uses props and comfortable, fully supported positions to minimise physical effort and create the conditions for deep relaxation.
Together, they offer a beautiful opportunity to explore the relationship between letting go, acceptance and self-compassion.
What we'll explore
🌿 The Philosophy of Yin & Restorative Yoga — Discover the differences between these two practices and how their teachings can help us find greater balance in a world that rarely slows down.
🧘 Gentle, Longer-Held Postures — Explore accessible Yin poses, using gravity and time rather than force. You'll be encouraged to find a comfortable level of sensation without pushing or striving for a deeper stretch.
🤍 The Art of Being Supported — Experience Restorative Yoga with cushions, blankets and pillows, allowing the body to settle into positions that require very little effort.
🌬️ Mindful Breathing — Explore gentle breath awareness to help quieten the mental chatter and bring your attention back to the present moment.
🌙 Stillness & Self-Reflection — Discover what happens when we stop filling every moment with activity and begin to listen to what our bodies and minds might be telling us.
✨ Deep Relaxation & Guided Meditation — Finish with a beautifully calming practice, giving yourself permission to rest without expectation, guilt or the need to achieve anything.
Who is this workshop for?
Absolutely everyone.
Whether you're new to yoga, have an established practice or simply feel as though life has been asking rather a lot of you lately, you're warmly welcome.
This is a slower, quieter workshop with very little movement, making it a lovely introduction to the more meditative side of yoga.
You won't need any special equipment. Just a yoga mat or comfortable space, a couple of pillows or cushions, a blanket and perhaps a bolster if you have one.
There will be options throughout, so you can adjust each posture to suit your body. You can also choose to rest instead of stretching at any point.
There is nothing to keep up with, nothing to perfect and absolutely nothing to prove.

This is the final session in our November Journey — Four Weeks, Four Styles, One Journey of Discovery, where we've explored Hatha, Ashtanga, Kundalini and Yin & Restorative Yoga.
And what a beautiful way to finish our journey: not by doing more, but by allowing ourselves to do less.
A little thought to take away...
So much of our lives is spent believing that we need to be stronger, more productive, more disciplined or more accomplished.
That somehow, when we've done enough, achieved enough or become enough, we'll finally deserve to rest.
But yoga offers us another possibility.
That we can grow without constantly pushing.
That we can care deeply without carrying everything.
And that we can find strength in softness.
Rest is not a reward for getting everything done. It is part of how we look after ourselves.
So come as you are.
Bring your cushions, your blanket and perhaps a warm cup of tea.
And for one beautiful hour, give yourself permission to simply be.
Lots of love,
Beck xx
